Leaves for Represented Certificated Personnel
This Board Policy applies to the San Francisco Unified School District and the County Office of Education.
The Governing Board shall provide for paid and unpaid leaves of absence for employees in accordance with law, Board policy, administrative regulation, and applicable collective bargaining agreements:
- Contract between San Francisco School District and United Educators of San Francisco covering Certificated Personnel July 1, 2014 – June 30, 2017 (“UE Contract”)
- Collective Bargaining Agreement Between United Administrators of San Francisco American Federation of School Administrators, AFL/CIO, Local 3 and San Francisco Unified School District July 1, 2013 – June 30, 2016, extended to June 20, 2018 (“UA Contract”)

The Board recognizes the following justifiable reasons for employee absence:
- Personal illness or injury (UE Contract § 10.2.2 and UA Contract § 7.1)
